Happy Monday everyone! I hope you enjoyed your long Bank Holiday weekends.
I had some plans for the last 3 days and it’s certainly made me feel like a new woman! We hugely underestimate the need for social interactions in our lives. Like a lot of things, we tend not to realise the importance of it until it’s taken from us. I hope you were also able to spend some time with others this weekend.
Over to todays Monday Motivation: This week our theme is conflict.

There are always people we will not get on with in our lives, in varying levels. Some, we just will not connect with and others we may have strong negative feelings towards. In my experience, these relationships normally present themselves in a school or work environment, meaning you have to make a choice of how much you want this to affect your life. For instance, if you work with someone everyday, having conflict with eachother will make your working lives just that bit harder. This is a perfect example of where we need to pick our battles wisely. This isn’t to say we should let others walk all over us or allow bad behaviour. It means we need to choose which situations would benefit from us speaking out versus which situations may be best left alone.
You don’t have to attend every argument you are invited to. Sometimes walking away is the best option for you and for getting through your day.
If you find yourself in a similar situation this week ask yourself these questions before you react:
- Is this individual worth my energy in talking back?
- Will responding to this individual benefit my life or day in anyway?
- Will I feel better for initiating or responding to a conflict with this individual?
- Is there more power in this situation than stepping away?
- Have you misunderstood the situation?
You can then make an informed decision on your next actions. Also remember, we will encounter people we don’t like through every walk of life. How we act is the only thing we can control, so choose wisely.
Tip of the Week: Spend time with others!
Song of the week: Here Comes The Sun, The Beatles
Have a great week everybody!
